Nestled in an isolated, idyllic valley by Huge Mary's Creek within the Blue Ridge Mountains of Rockbridge County, Nature Camp is founded on the precept that nobody can be anticipated to save lots of the world who doesn't care in regards to the world, and nobody will be expected to care concerning the natural world who does not learn about and understand it.

With field groups of 10-12 campers with each grownup Naturalist and teenage Junior Naturalist, campers have a greater expertise and form closer bonds. Junior Campers (Ages 7 to 9): Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. As a result of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we're currently not accepting functions for the Summer season 2020 Nature Camp. Security policies as they relate to COVID-19 would be the same as outlined in the Summer time Nature Camp Update II (beneath), including the headcount of 10 campers.
On account of COVID-19, we will reach 90% fewer campers in 2020. The preschool and kindergarten periods will not be happening field trips and can spend their week enjoying all that Magnuson Park has to offer. Campers will maintain, catch and analyze organisms and we'll play numerous water games using water balloons and buckets, make mud pies and explore muddy creeks.
Our nature camp capitalizes on our expertise and enthusiasm for teaching youngsters about the outside world. In week one in every of two water-targeted weeks, campers will discover ponds, streams, creeks and beaches to learn about waterways, adaptation, eutrophication and succession.
